Our cofounder, Shyno Mathew just defended her PhD in Computational Chemical Engineering at Columbia University. During her PhD, she studied LC3 protein using computer simulations specifically molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. LC3 protein plays a crucial role in autophagy. Autophagy is cell's recycling mechanism, the process by which cells remove the dysfunctional components. She is one of the graduate spotlights of Columbia Engineering School, you can read the article here.
On June 4th at the Next Generation Summit, Shyno met Autumn Gray, Communications Manager from the city of Albuquerque Economic Development. They had such a great time talking about STEM, sustainability and promoting peace. During this conversation, Autumn mentioned to Shyno about the contest to win a trip to Albuquerque, and long story short Shyno is the winner. The city of Albuquerque graciously provided our team the opportunity to do the launch event for BooMEE on August 16th. Our team is super excited about this trip, read the full story here
